Michelino da Besozzo

Michelino da Besozzo was born in 1370, trained in Giovannino de' Grassi’s workshop and worked mainly in Milan, Pavia and Venice, where he probably met Gentile da Fabriano.
Some of his works are: the frescos in the church of St Salvatore sopra Crevenna (depicting the Crucifixion), and the picture with the Mystic Wedding of St Catherine (Siena National Picture Gallery).
Michelino was also a skilled miniaturist: he executed the Funeral Oration of Gian Galeazzo in 1403 and the Book of Hours of the civic library of Avignone.
